Show me the person that is offended by We Todd Id and I'll show you an inconsistent hypocrite.

Has this thread become a flame against Idiot Savants' name? If so, it's ridiculous. We Todd Id sounds like the slurred speech of a guy with a mental retardation, one can agree with Arenanet or not (I think a player who names himself like this needs no further comment, banning him will only advertise him, which is what just happened) but there's no coincidence here, the purpose of the phonetics is clear.

Idiot Savant is an elegant expression which implies positive and negative attributes. Idiot, meaning low IQ, Savant, meaning unlimited knowledge of something. It's ironic. A stupid genius. A clever dumb. Only uneducated people with serious problems in reading comprehension would argue about that, and be offended.

And please stop quoting the vocabulary, it's silly. For the same reason I could call you all gay because gay also means "very happy" and I'd be free to use the word bitch around because it also means "female of the dog".

Exactly. These are the most thick skinned people among us. They'd never be able to go out in public if they weren't. If I had a child with down syndrome and became offended every time someone said "retarded" (or any other pronunciation), my whole life would be spent being offended.

No one is as offended as ANet would have us believe with their name banning policy. If these people do exist, they're not playing Guild Wars. They're members of the ACLU and they're busy being offended by displays of a cross or of baby Jesus or someone saying "under God". There is no way to go through Guild Wars without being perpetually offended if something as harmless as We Todd ID makes you mad.

Honestly, I don't care about that person who is offended by "we todd id". I only addressed Nim, the original poster, because I knew he'd read my response.

Personally I also agree with the fact that some people need to grow some skins and stop feeling offended whenever a in-game character breaks wind. However, I don't think these people are intelligent enough to understand that idea so I only wrote in response to what I consider stupid in this tread.

When I did a search through Ask Jeeves for Idiot Savant, I found this definition for it, provided by MSN Encarta.
